Our values
The BelgianArtPrize's policy is founded on collaboration, support, mutual respect, self-reflection and inclusiveness. These core values underpin all our activities, considerations and decisions.
Putting the artist first
The BelgianArtPrize’s policy puts the artist at the centre. We want to support the development of artistic practice by offering artists the opportunity and space to create ambitious new work, as well as presenting it to the public. We aim to do this by providing a positive and constructive working environment based on cooperation and mutual respect.
The BelgianArtPrize is committed to paying each artist without prejudice or discrimination a fee that is in accordance with current practice. When an artist receives a commission, a contract is concluded between the BelgianArtPrize and the artist in question, setting out the responsibilities and expectations of both parties. The artist is expected to abide by the terms of the contract and make every effort to fulfil all the responsibilities set out therein. In return, the artist can be assured that BelgianArtPrize will fulfil its obligations in relation to the contract.
Donation policy
With each potential donation, the sponsor, partner or patron is subjected to a screening process consisting of an examination of publicly available material to uncover possible controversy or matters of concern. Whenever possible, this process will take place before a donation is obtained, to avoid potential reputational damage resulting from the refusal or return of a donation.
